About the Recipe

Use this when you’re feeling hot, agitated, or breaking out—especially in warm weather or after eating heavy, greasy foods. This remedy helps release internal heat, supports healthy skin, and gently clears the Liver and Stomach without weakening digestion.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup dried mung beans

  • 4–5 cups water

  • Handful of fresh mint (1–2 sprigs)

  • Optional: pinch of sea salt or slice of fresh ginger (if prone to cold or loose stools)

Preparation

  • Rinse mung beans well and soak for 1–2 hours (optional but speeds cook time).

  • Bring mung beans and water to a boil, then reduce to simmer.

  • Cook ~30–40 minutes or until beans begin to break down.

  • In the last 5 minutes, add fresh mint.

  • Strain or serve as-is, depending on preference (8-10oz serving).

Primary Symptoms

Heat signs - red skin, mild breakouts, irritability, headache, thirst

Notes and Variations

  • Add a slice of ginger if you tend to bloat or feel cold internally

  • Leave the mint out if you feel emotionally raw or overly sensitive to smells

  • Can be blended into a cooling soup with zucchini or celery if using for meals

  • Works well after sun exposure or during PMS breakouts
