About the Recipe

Use when you're feeling heavy, bloated, foggy, or like food is just sitting in your stomach. This tea helps move what's stuck and restore clarity and energy. Perfect for after heavy meals, travel, or when stress has slowed everything down.

Ingredients

  • 1–2 tsp dried tangerine peel (chen pi)

  • 2–3 thin slices fresh ginger

  • 16–20 oz hot water

Preparation

  • Rinse the chen pi under warm water if it’s dusty or older.

  • Place chen pi and ginger into a heat-safe mug or jar.

  • Pour freshly boiled water over the herbs.

  • Cover and steep 10–15 minutes.

  • Drink warm.

Bloating, sluggish digestion, mental fog, heavy limbs

Notes and Variations

  • Add a pinch of fennel seed for gas and burping

  • Use more ginger if you're feeling cold or nauseated

  • Use less ginger if prone to dryness or irritability

  • Works well with a light congee breakfast to support digestion all day
