About the Recipe
This tea is best used during hot weather, after meals that cause mild bloating, or in moments of emotional tension, especially when accompanied by irritability or restlessness. It’s also helpful when the throat feels dry or mildly scratchy.

Ingredients
1 small handful fresh basil leaves (about 6–8)
1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries, halved
1/2 ripe peach, sliced (fresh or frozen)
2–3 cups hot water (just off boil)
Optional: 1–2 slices fresh ginger for added warmth
Preparation
Lightly crush the basil leaves to release their oils.
Combine basil, strawberries, and peach slices in a teapot or large mug.
Pour hot water over the ingredients and cover.
Let steep for 8–10 minutes.
Strain if desired, or drink with fruit left in.
Enjoy hot, or cool and refrigerate to serve over ice.
Primary Symptoms
This tea may ease mild bloating, emotional irritability, internal heat signs like restlessness or facial flushing, and mild yin deficiency symptoms such as dry lips, dry eyes, or throat dryness.
Notes and Variations
For digestive support: Basil helps soothe bloating and gas, while ginger can warm and stimulate digestion.
For heat or irritability: This blend gently clears heat, especially when served chilled. Great in summer.
For dry throat or yin deficiency: Add a few goji berries or a slice of Asian pear.
Sweetener tip: Add a small amount of raw honey or monkfruit if a sweeter tea is preferred.
